The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct the CBSE Board 2026 Class 12 Chemistry exam today, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. As per CBSE Board exam guidelines, no student will be permitted to enter the examination centre after 10 am. To pass the CBSE board Class 12th exam 2026, students must score 33% marks in each subject.

More than 18 to 20 lakh students are appearing for the CBSE Class 12 board exams in 2026. The exams started on February 17, 2026, and will continue until April 10, 2026, at over 8,000 exam centres. In total, more than 43 lakh students from Class 10 and Class 12 are taking the exams this year.

According to the board’s guidelines, students are required to carry their CBSE board admit card 2026 along with their school ID for verification at the examination centre. A 15-minute reading time will be provided from 10:15 am to 10:30 am, allowing students to go through the question paper before the writing time begins.
CBSE has introduced an on-screen evaluation system for the CBSE Class 12 board exams from 2026 as a reform to enhance efficiency, transparency, and speed in the assessment process. Under the CBSE OSM system, answer booklets are scanned and uploaded to a digital platform — CBSE Onmark (cbse.onmark.co.in) — where teachers assess responses through a computer-based interface.
While the board taken this initiative as a step towards modernisation, several teachers involved in the evaluation process have expressed concerns that the rollout has been hurried and that the training provided was inadequate.
The CBSE board will conclude the CBSE Class 12th exams 2026 for 114 subjects on April 10 for more than 16 lakh students.

According to the CBSE board, the updated penalties for cheating in exam are as follows:
If a candidate is found cheating in any subject, the result for that subject will be cancelled and cannot be substituted with a sixth or seventh subject for the purpose of being declared “pass.”
Such cases will be placed under the compartment category, and the candidate will be required to reappear in that specific subject.
These rules will be equally applicable to all Class 10 CBSE examinations from 2026 onward.

Students are required to arrive at the examination centre at least 30-45 minutes before the reporting time. No one will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the reporting time. Students must carry the admit cards issued by CBSE. Students without admit cards will not be permitted to sit in the examination.
