Central Board of Secondary Education has made it mandatory for students to provide their APAAR ID while submitting their board examination registration forms. The decision follows the board’s observation that by the 2025–26 academic session, fewer than 50% of students in affiliated schools had generated an Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID.

According to the CBSE board, the updated penalties for cheating in exam are as follows:

If a candidate is found cheating in any subject, the result for that subject will be cancelled and cannot be substituted with a sixth or seventh subject for the purpose of being declared “pass.”

Such cases will be placed under the compartment category, and the candidate will be required to reappear in that specific subject.

These rules will be equally applicable to all Class 10 CBSE examinations from 2026 onward.

The inorganic chemistry section of the CBSE Class 12 Chemistry paper will include coordination compounds, d- and f- block elements, and p-block elements.

The organic chemistry section will have questions on Haloalkanes and Haloarenes, Alcohols, Phenols and Ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids, and Amines.

The Physical chemistry section will have high weightage topics such as electrochemistry, chemical kinetics, and solutions.

Students are required to arrive at the examination centre at least 30-45 minutes before the reporting time. No one will be allowed to enter the examination hall after the reporting time. Students must carry the admit cards issued by CBSE. Students without admit cards will not be permitted to sit in the examination. The answer booklets and question papers will be distributed 15 minutes before the exam starts.
