CBSE and KVS donate to PM CARES Fund

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS)have decided to contribute to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) to aid the government in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

To support the nation and the people in this time of crisis, CBSE has donated Rs 21,00,000 to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund). The employees of CBSE have voluntarily come forward to donate their salary to the PM CARES Fund to extend their support.

As per the statement issued by CBSE, Group- “A” employees have donated two-day salary and Group- “B” & “C” employees have contributed their one day salary to PM CARES Fund.

All the employees of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) have also decided to donate a day’s salary each to the PM CARES Fund to aid the government's efforts in dealing with the COVID-19 situation.

The KVs are also making their campuses available to serve as quarantine centres.

Currently, the count of confirmed COVID-19 cases has risen to 1,171 and the death toll has climbed to 29.
