NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the new schedule for exams that were cancelled for schools in north east Delhi due to the violence and rioting toward the end of February. For Class 10, the first exam is English on March 21 and for Class 12, it is physics on March 31.

Schools were shut and exams postponed at over 80 examination centres in the North East district of Delhi due to rioting. A private school and its students had even sued the CBSE for holding exams.

On February 26, the Delhi High Court had ordered CBSE to come up with a long-term plan for the district when violence appeared to continue unabated. Exams were postponed for February 26 and on February 27, the CBSE postponed all exams on February 28 and 29 for the district. Exams resumed next Monday, March 2, with over 98 percent attendance, claimed CBSE.

The subjects missed include physics, accountancy, history, chemistry and political science for Class 12. Students of Class 10 missed English and Hindi.
