CBSE Class 10 exam pattern

The total marks in each subject in CBSE Class 10 exam will be 100. The theory section will be for 80 marks and the remaining 20 marks will be given for practicals and internal assessment. The theory papers will consist of the following type of questions with their respective weightage of marks:

1. Very Short Answer Questions – 1 mark each

2. Short Answer Type Questions I – 2 marks each

3. Short Answer Type Questions II – 3 marks each

4. Value-based Questions – 4 marks

5. Long Answer Type Questions – 5 marks each

CBSE guidelines for class 10

CBSE has instructed students to report at the examination centre in school uniform and with school identity card along with CBSE admit card 2023.
Students are only allowed to carry the permissible stationery items.
Items like mobile phones with GPS, communication devices, electronic items or barred items are strictly prohibited to carry at the examination centre.
Students will be given 15 minutes of reading time to read the question paper.
The candidates are suggested to strictly adhere to the important instructions mentioned on the CBSE admit card 2023.
Examinees will be allowed to leave the examination centre only after the completion of the exam timings.
CBSE has warned students to refrain from spreading rumours and hosting any material on social websites including WhatsApp, YouTube, Twitter etc.

CBSE Class 10 exam pattern

For the CBSE Class 10 academic session 2022-23, the board has decided to resume the earlier Class 10 board exam pattern and cancel the two-term exam system.
Each exam paper will be of 3 hours duration.
Questions will include situation-based, case-based, open-ended, short-answer, and long-answer type questions.

CBSE has advised schools overseas that only 24 students would be allowed in a single room, and two centre superintendents will be deputed in one room.
