To pass the CBSE Class 10 exam, students have to score at least 33% in each subject as well as in the overall aggregate. Those who have failed to secure the minimum passing marks, or those who want to improve their scores, now have the option to appear for the phase 2 exams, which are tentatively scheduled to begin on May 5. Earlier, students had to request a photocopy of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for verification or re-evaluation of marks.
Who can appear for the second board exam?
The CBSE Class 10 second board exam will be conducted based on the full current syllabus and prescribed textbooks. CBSE earlier announced that examinations for Science, Mathematics, Social Science, Hindi, and English will be held on fixed days, as is currently practiced. The examination for regional and foreign languages will be conducted together on a single day.
Another key point is that students can appear for a maximum of three subjects. The allowed combinations are: all three core subjects — Mathematics, Science, and Social Science, or any two of the three core subjects along with one language. Students are not allowed to choose two languages, except in cases where they have failed in both languages they appeared for in the February examination.
