CBSE Class 10 Social Science Analysis: ‘Moderate’ exam, at par with sample paper

NEW DELHI: The CBSE Class 10 social science exam was conducted today on March 15 from 10:30 am till 1:30 pm. The maximum marks to be awarded in the paper were 80. Students who took the exam said that the difficulty level of the paper was moderate and the paper primarily comprised competency based questions.

The question paper was based on the lines of the sample paper provided at cbseacademic.ac.in.

Terming the paper to be student-friendly, PGT-Political science at Modern English school of Kahilipara in Guwahati, Himakhi Gohain said that the questions asked in the paper varied from easy level till critical level. The difficulty level of the paper was matching with the sample paper provided by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), she added.

TGT in Social science at the Seth Anandram Jaipuria school of Lucknow, Abhilasha Pandey said that around 70 to 80 per cent of the questions that were asked in the paper came straight from the textbook. She said that no questions were asked from outside the syllabus. Students could be spotted happy after coming out of the exam hall, she added.

CBSE Social science exam: Section-wise analysis

● Section A consisted of a blend of direct and tricky questions.

● Section B had a major chunk of direct questions, which were easy to answer.

● Section C consisted of application based questions, while theoretical questions were also asked.

● In Section D analytical questions reigned supreme.

● Section E comprised three case based questions of moderate level.

● Section F consisted of two map work questions from History as well as three map work questions from Geography.
