NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 28, 2019 : Candidates representing the country in International Sports Events have no need to worry about the clashing of their exam and sporting events. Central board of secondary education (CBSE) took a decision for such candidates of class 10 and 12 to write their exam at later date. Exam for such candidates will be conducted at a date mutually convenient to the student and the board, before the declaration of results. In 2018, this concession was extended to nine students to avoid clashing of event and exam.
Such student will have to make a request to the board in writing through their respective schools along with the recommendations from the Sports Authority of India informing of their participation in the international events on the date of examination or near the date of examination. Recommendations from Sports Authority should be in a specific format as issued by CBSE. CBSE also directed the schools to communicate for such cases to the concerned Regional Office of the CBSE.
Class 10 board exams will be conducted between February 21 and March 29, 2019 while class 12 board exams will begin on February 15 and conclude on April 3, 2019. Students can apply for facilitation before January 31, 2019.
