NEW DELHI: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for the December 2024 session will be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today. The CTET shift 1 exam for those who applied for Classes 5 to 8 teacher eligibility has begun. The CTET paper 2 exam will conclude at 12 noon.
It is compulsory to carry the CTET admit card to the exam centre. The CTET hall ticket is available at the official website, ctet.nic.in. The CBSE Board will conduct paper 1 exam in the evening shift, which will begin at 2.30 pm and end at 5 pm, and paper 2 in the morning shift between 9.30 am to 12 noon.
All the questions in CTET 2024 paper will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking for wrong response.
The CTET paper 1 question paper will have five sections - child development and pedagogy , mathematics, environmental studies, language 1 and language 2. Paper 2 will have science and mathematics papers or social studies and social science sections instead of environmental science in paper 1.

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is conducted to determine the eligibility for appointment as a teacher for Class 1 to 8. The exam conducting body, CBSE, holds the exam for two papers - paper 1 for primary stage from Class 1 to Class 5 and paper 2 for elementary stage from Class 5 to Class 8.
Candidates will be allowed to break open the CTET test booklet five minutes before the commencement of the exam. They are required to check the test booklet code on side 2 of the OMR sheet is same as the one printed on test booklet. In case of discrepancy, the candidate should immediately report the matter to the invigilator for replacement of both the test booklet and OMR sheet.
The CBSE CTET shift 1 exam begins. Candidates appearing for paper 2 will have to attempt all questions by 12 noon.

The CBSE holds the CTET exam for two different levels - primary and elementary stage. The CTET paper 1 is conducted for applicants seeking to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5 and paper 2 for a person who intends to be teacher for classes 6 to 8.
Candidates will have to key in their CTET application number, date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, and security pin as displayed on the screen to download the hall ticket.
The languages of the CBSE CTET main question paper 2024 will be bilingual - both in English and Hindi.
Here’s the section-wise types of questions, CTET syllabus for paper 2 exam.
Child Development and Pedagogy - This section will test candidates’ knowledge in educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. It will also focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
Language 1 – This section will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction.
Language 2 – This will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
Mathematics and Science and Social Studies/Social Science - This section will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding and applications of the subjects. The test items of mathematics and science will be of 30 marks each. The questions will cover different chapters of the prescribed syllabus for Classes 6 to 8 by the NCERT.
There are a total of five sections, with an optional section based on subject preference, in CTET paper 2 exam. Each question will carry one mark each. There will be no negative marking for wrong response.

The CBSE Board will hold the CTET paper 2 exam in shift 1 for candidates who have registered for Classes 6 to 8 teacher eligibility test.

The CBSE will hold paper 2 exams in the first shift. Entry inside the exam hall began at 7.30 am.
CTET Exam 2024 | A candidate who scores 60% or more in the teacher eligibility test will be considered as TET pass. The CBSE said that the school managements may consider giving concessions to SC, ST, OBC, and PwD candidates as per the reservation policy.
Here’s the list of items not allowed inside the examination hall. Those found in possession of the prohibited items inside the exam venue will be disqualified.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has hosted the CTET admit card 2024 at ctet.nic.in. Candidates will have to key in their application number, password, and security pin to download the hall ticket. Those without a valid CTET 2024 admit card will not be allowed entry inside the exam hall.
