NEW DELHI : In a recent crackdown on fraudulent practices, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has filed police complaints against two schools in Delhi for submitting fake documents. The central board uncovered that Manava Bhawna Public School, Burari, and Sat Saheb Public School, Uttam Nagar, submitted forged land certificates as part of their affiliation process.
The central board had forwarded the land certificates of these two institutions for verification to the relevant authorities. The verification process revealed that the land certificates provided by both schools were not issued by the concerned authorities. In response to this discovery, the CBSE immediately took action by filing a police complaint with the Preet Vihar Police Station.
“The CBSE affiliates schools under different categories for the purpose of conduct of public examinations of the students sponsored by these affiliated schools. The Board grants affiliation on fulfilment of mandatory and other conditions for affiliation as provided in the Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018 of the Board. While considering the applications, the Board conducts a very strict scrutiny of the essential documents submitted by the schools and in order to establish the genuineness, the documents are also verified from the issuing authority,” the board stated in an official statement.

CBSE affiliation, fake documents
In March this year, CBSE urged the Delhi Police to register a First Information Report (FIR) and take action against a Prayagraj school for submitting a fake ‘No Objection Certificate’ for affiliation.
Recently, in another incident, CBSE issued show-cause notices to 34 affiliated schools for participating in sports events organized by a body named CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO) despite warnings. The board clarified that the Agra-based body is not a part of CBSE and schools were asked not to associate with it in any manner.
