CBSE holds National Skill Expo and Guidance Festival with over 1,650 students

CBSE board's event was aimed at promoting skill education and career readiness among students.
NEW DELHI : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently hosted the ‘National Skill Expo and Guidance’ festival at the Delhi Public School (DPS), Pali Road, Jodhpur. The event was organised to promote skill education and career readiness among students.
The event was attended by 1,650 students across 46 teams representing 13 states and 2 union territories. Students showcased their projects in emerging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), beauty and, wellness, banking, etc.
The top projects were recognised by SSVM School of Excellence Coimbatore, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, Jaipur, securing first place, and Evergreen Public School, New Delhi was in second place, while, SES Gurukul, Pune, and DAV Centenary Public School, New Delhi, shared the third spot.
“The National Skill Expo and Guidance Festival set a significant benchmark in fostering skill education , nurturing creativity, and encouraging critical thinking among students across India,” the CBSE statement read.

The event was inaugurated by CBSE Chairman, Rahul Singh, IAS, alongside other guests including – Raju Narayana Swamy, IAS, the principal secretary, government of Kerala; Biswajit Saha the director (Skill Education), CBSE; and Asha Vyas, the pro-vice chairperson of DPS Pali Road. Other CBSE officials also attended the event.
In opening remarks CBSE chairman emphasized the need for evolving educational paradigms in response to global changes and said: “The world is evolving, and we must evolve too, preparing our future generations for career readiness. CBSE is championing India's educational shift towards skilling through initiatives like the National Guidance Festival (NGF).”
Raju Narayana Swamy lauded CBSE’s initiative in imparting skill education to students during his speech. He also emphasized the importance of identifying inborn talents, and skills and guiding students effectively. He adds: "The younger generation must be equipped with essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration."
