CBSE to re-conduct Economics and Maths Exam for Class 10 & 12

NEW DELHI, MARCH 28: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced to re-conduct the examinations for Economics of class 12 and Mathematics of class 10 after the allegation of the paper leak. The new exam date for both the papers are likely to be announced soon.
The Economics of class 12 and Maths of class 10 were held on March 26 and 28, respectively. Both the papers landed into controversy after reports that the question papers of the two subjects leaked on social media.
According to the notification released by CBSE on the paper leak, the re-exam is conducted in a view to uphold the sanctity of the board examinations and provide fairness to the students.
“ The board has taken cognizance of certain happenings in the conduct of certain examinations as are being reported. With the view to uphold the sanctity of the Board Examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the Board has decided to re-conduct the examinations. Dates for fresh examinations and the other details shall be hosted on the CBSE website within a week”, CBSE notice said.
Similar news also surfaced at the time of Accountancy paper for Class 12. However, CBSE had denied the leak. This time, CBSE has admitted the paper leak of Class 10 Mathematics and Class 12 Economics paper.
CBSE Class 10 exam is being conducted from March 6 to April 2 while the class 12 exam is held from March 5 to April 13. More than 28 lakh students are appearing for the board exams this year. A total of 16,38,428 candidates have registered for class 10 examinations while 11,86,306 candidates have registered for class 12 examinations.
