CBSE Result 2020: Kejriwal praises Delhi Government school students

NEW DELHI: Lauding the achievement of Class 12 students for their results in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s exams, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the pass percentage of Delhi Government schools, close to 98%, is the highest since 2015.
The pass percentage of government schools stood at 97.92 percent while the private schools achieved a pass percentage of 92.2 percent.
“Feeling [very] proud to announce that the CBSE class 12 result of Delhi govt schools this year is 98% - highest ever so far. It’s historic,” said Kejriwal. “Congratulations to my Team Education, all students, teachers, parents and education officers,” he added.
The deputy chief minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia also congratulated the students and teachers for achieving the highest average in the country.

Sisodia further praised the accomplishment of Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas which achieved a pass percentage of 99.92 percent. There are 21 RPVV schools under the Delhi Government.
Out of 916 schools which have Class 12 students, 897 schools have a pass percentage of 90 percent and above. This year, in 396 schools all students have passed -- a pass percentage of 100% -- against 203 schools last year.

The school of excellence, an initiative of Aam Aadmi Party, also fared well in the CBSE exam. Three such schools have achieved 100 percent result, Sisodia informed the press. “In two Schools of Excellence, only one student has failed,” Sisodia added.
Moreover, the evening schools have also shown significant improvement in the CBSE result. Last year, the pass percentage of evening schools stood at 89.69 percent which has climbed up to 96.92 percent this year.
Presenting the improvement in marks scored by each student, Sisodia said “ In 2018, the QI was 291, in 2019 it was 306 and this year it is 341,” The quality index stipulates the marks scored by individual student in the exam.
“There was a time when people used to look down upon the government school children but now the situation has changed. Our government is tirelessly working for the improvement of the education sector in Delhi,” Kejriwal said.
