NEW DELHI: Schools and universities across the country are holding streaming sessions of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)’s live telecast of Chandrayaan-3, which aims to be the first module to soft-land on the south pole of the moon.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath announced that all schools in the state will be showing Chandrayaan-3 live streaming. The Uttar Pradesh government has directed all District Institute for Education and Training (DIET) officers to make necessary arrangements for showing ISRO Chandrayaan-3 live landing on the moon.

Haryana minister of school education Kanwar Pal said that all education officers of the state have been directed to open schools between 5 pm to 6 pm for telecasting Chandrayaan-3 live streaming. Madhya Pradesh government also announced that schools will be open from 5 pm to 6pm today for the live telecast of Chandrayaan-3.

Assam school education department has ordered special assemblies to be held for Chandrayaan-3 live streaming.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked the colleges and universities to organise ‘special assemblies’ between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm today, August 23 and encourage the students and faculty to watch the live streaming of Chandrayaan-3. The central government has ordered all higher education institutions including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to live telecast the landing of Chandrayaan-3

ISRO’s moon mission Chandrayaan-3 Lander Module is all set to land on the lunar surface today. Chandrayaan-3 is the third lunar exploration mission under the Chandrayaan programme of ISRO. If the Chandrayaan-3 mission succeeds in landing a robotic lunar rover, India will become the fourth country to master the technology of soft-landing on the lunar surface after the US, China and the erstwhile Soviet Union.

The launch date of Chandrayaan-3 was July 14. Live telecast of Chandrayaan-3 soft landing will be available on ISRO’s youtube page as well as on DD national live. ISRO Chandrayaan-3 live link will be activated from 5:20 pm. Chandrayaan-3 landing time is expected to be around 6:04 pm today.
