Chhattisgarh schools to reopen on August 2, follow COVID guidelines
Chhattisgarh school reopening: The government has issued guidelines on resuming of schools in the state.
NEW DELHI: The Chhattisgarh government has issued guidelines on reopening of schools in the state considering the decline in COVID-19 cases. The schools in Chhattisgarh will resume classes from August 2 for the students of Classes 11 and 12 with 50 percent attendance, as per the official guidelines. The decision in this regard was taken during a cabinet meeting by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel.
As per the instructions, for the resumption of Classes 1 to 5 and Class 8 in the rural areas, their respective village panchayats can take a call. While, in urban areas, the respective boards will take the decision and resume physical classes from August 2.
The Chhattisgarh government also said that schools will reopen in only those districts wherein the COVID positivity rate is lower than one per cent in the previous seven days.

The government asked the schools to call students on alternate days with 50 percent attendance. Students with symptoms of cold, fever, or cough will not be allowed to sit in the classrooms. Physical classes are not mandatory, said the official guidelines.
The statement further stated that online classes will be continued simultaneously and asked the schools to follow proper sanitisation, cleanliness, and safety measures.
The Chhattisgarh government has also allowed reopening of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state, while medical, engineering and polytechnic colleges will be reopened in a phase-wise manner.
Recently, Madhya Pradesh government also issued SOPs on reopening of schools in the state.
