NEW DELHI: Children’s Day 2021 is celebrated on November 14 as a tribute to the first prime minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, also known as Chacha Nehru amongst children as both were really fond of each other. Nehru was born on November 14, 1889.

Apart from celebrating Nehru’s birthday, Children’s Day aims to create awareness amongst people about the rights, growth, and education of children of the country.

On this day, while schools observe a holiday for the kids, they celebrate Children's day a day before by organising events, fests, and cultural activities such as children’s day speech, children’s day quiz questions, children’s day drawing competition etc. Children dress up in fancy clothes and also perform on children’s day songs.
