Children’s Day 2023: The history of Children’s Day celebration in India is linked to Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first prime minister, who steered the nation to the path of recovery and modernisation after Independence. A key figure in the country's struggle for Independence, Jawaharlal Nehru served as leader of the country for 16 years.

It was his vision that paved the way for prominent educational and living facilities for Indian children. A strong proponent of science and technology, parliamentary democracy, and secularism during the 1950s, Nehru is also known as the architect of modern India. With the establishment of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and universities, it was Nehru who put India on the path of development.

His dedication towards nurturing the future of the country's children earned him the name "Chacha Nehru". To honour his life’s work, Children’s Day 2023 or Bal Divas is celebrated on November 14, Nehru’s birth anniversary, every year.

Careers360’s Children’s Day 2023 Quiz is a tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru’s life and the children of India. With these eight questions test your knowledge about Nehru and the children of India.
