CJP's Abhijeet Dipke apologises to injured supporters, seeks details of those hurt; Delhi Police file 5 FIRs

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has apologised to supporters who were injured during the party's Parliament march and appealed to them to contact him, saying he wanted to speak to them personally. In a post on X, Dipke wrote, "I apologise to all our supporters, especially the girls who were brutally beaten by male police officers. We could have done better. I could have done better to protect you from the inhumane actions of the Delhi Police."

He urged those injured during the protest to get in touch with him. "If you were injured and see this, please DM me. I want to speak to you personally and apologise. We will keep fighting for all of you," he said.

Dipke also alleged that the government is protecting Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The post further reads, "To protect one Dharmendra Pradhan, who is responsible for the deaths of more than 20 students, the Govt was willing to spill the blood of many more young students."

Earlier in the day, the CJP founder claimed that a woman protester was in critical condition at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital after being injured during brutal lathi-charge. He went to the hospital to meet students who were allegedly injured during the protest.

Saket Gokhale seeks videos

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale has appealed to the public to share videos allegedly showing police action against protesters during the Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi. In a post on X, Gokhale said he and "some MPs" are documenting video evidence of what he described as "police brutality" against peaceful protesters to identify officials involved and pursue legal action.

He requested videos, particularly those clearly showing the faces of police personnel, saying they would help in filing complaints and ensuring accountability. Gokhale also assured contributors that submissions would remain anonymous, with no personal details required during upload.

FIRs registered by Delhi Police

Delhi Police have so far registered five FIRs in connection with the violence during CJP protest march. The cases have been lodged at Connaught Place, Parliament Street and other police stations, with more FIRs likely to be registered. Police said one FIR pertains to the unauthorised use of a drone in the New Delhi district during the Parliament session, while another relates to an alleged conspiracy to incite violence. Two more FIRs involve allegations of obstructing government work, assaulting police personnel and damaging public property. The accused are being identified using CCTV footage, police said.

Safdarjung Hospital seeks probe

Meanwhile, Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) of VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital has written to President Droupadi Murmu seeking immediate intervention over the continued hospitalisation of activist Sonam Wangchuk, raising concerns over patient autonomy, medical ethics and the independence of public healthcare institutions. The association sought protection of Wangchuk's right to avail Leave Against Medical Advice (LAMA), saying reports that he was not permitted to do so, if accurate, raise concerns over informed consent and personal liberty.

The RDA also sought an independent inquiry into the reported events at Jantar Mantar, examination of security arrangements at Safdarjung Hospital, and accountability if violations of constitutional rights or medical ethics are established.
