CLAT 2020 counselling registration starts on October 6; first seat allotment on October 9

New Delhi: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will conduct the counselling of CLAT 2020 in online mode starting October 6. The consortium will send invitations for counselling to candidates equivalent to three times the total number of seats offered by the 22 participating NLUs, including NLSIU Bangalore, which is back in CLAT 2020.

Eligible candidates will have to register for counselling online, pay the counselling fee, and participate in choice filling and locking. The seat allotment process of CLAT 2020 will be conducted in THREE rounds. The first allotment list will be announced on October 9, followed by the second and third lists on October 11 and October 14, respectively.

Third and Final Seat Allotment List

October 14, 2020 (10 am) - October 15, 2020 (10 am)

Newly allotted candidates have to either:


  • Accept / lock seats and upload documents and pay NLU fee

  • Apply for upgrade, submit documents, and pay NLU fees

  • Exit admission process


CLAT Counselling process 2020:

  • CLAT 2020 counselling process would be conducted in ONLINE mode.

  • The number of candidates INVITED for CLAT registration will be equivalent to THREE times the number of sanctioned seat intake in each category

  • The fee to register for counselling is Rs. 50,000

  • At the time of registration, the candidate will have to give /update their preferences (minimum five preferences is required)

  • Only such candidates who have registered for counselling will be considered for CLAT seat allotment 2020

  • Post acceptance of seats by the candidates, NLUs will verify documents and accept candidates upon payment of fee.

  • The NLUs will next update the “Accepted” or “Not Accepted” details online

CLAT result to be declared on October 5

The consortium will declare the CLAT result 2020 on the official website - consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The result would be declared in the form of rank cards that will include details like sectional and overall marks, AIl India and category rank.

Meanwhile, the provisional CLAT answer key 2020 will be released today in the evening, within hours of the conduct of the exam, which is being conducted in online, centre-based mode.
