NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will commence the CLAT 2022 counselling process today, June 25, 2022. It will release the invite list that contains the roll numbers of the candidates shortlisted for counselling and the seat allotment process.

The CLAT 2022 result has already been declared on June 24, 2022. Candidates can download the result by logging into their registered account at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Earlier, CLAT 2022 was conducted on June 19, 2022, in 131 exam centres, across the country. The CLAT scores will be used by 22 national law universities and several other law colleges and universities.

How many candidates will be invited?

As per the consortium, candidates five times, the number of seats in each category will be invited for CLAT counselling. This means, that around 15,000 candidates for CLAT UG and around 4,500 candidates in CLAT LLM are expected to get a call for counselling.

CLAT 2022 counselling process

The counselling is conducted in an online mode. The CLAT counselling registration will begin today, June 25, 2022. Shortlisted candidates will be able to register for counselling by logging into the CLAT portal. The CLAT counselling fee is Rs 30,000 for general candidates and Rs. 20,000 for SC and ST candidates.

Candidates will have to upload their documents and exercise their college preferences during the counselling. Following this, the consortium will verify the documents of the candidates and will publish the seat allotment lists in five rounds.

Options to exercise during CLAT 2022 counselling

Candidates who have received allotment will have three options - accept the seat, apply for an upgrade or exit the admission process.

Accept/Lock seat

Candidates who accept the seat allotment will have to upload the documents and pay the fee to the designated national law university.

Apply for upgrade

Candidates who did not get the desired NLU and want to apply for an upgrade need to submit documents and pay fee to the NLU.

Exit admission process

Candidates who exit the admission process will not be able to participate in the counselling. They will not be considered for admissions in subsequent rounds of seat allotment.
