All twenty-five NLUs across the country will admit students to its BA LLB and LLM courses based on the CLAT scores through a counselling process. The CLAT exams will be conducted in around 141 exam cities in 25 states and four Union Territories (UT) across the country.
Candidates will have to attempt all questions with a duration of two hours – from 2 pm to 4 pm – however, PwD candidates will be given additional 40 minutes to answer the questions.
Those allotted Lucknow exam centre have been shifted to Lucknow Public College, A-Block, Rajajipuram.

CLAT Exam 2026: Highlights
CLAT question paper 2026 will have 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied for each incorrect response, as per the CLAT marking scheme.
After the exams, the Consortium will publish the CLAT answer key 2026 within a week, likely by December 14. Candidates will be allowed to challenge the provisional answer key before publishing the final answer key.
All candidates who qualify the entrance exam are required to register again for the CLAT UG, PG counselling. Students will be allowed to submit 15 preferences during each round of counselling process.

Last year, aspirants opposed the “unreasonable” objection fee of Rs 1,000 per question challenged. Student representatives approached the Consortium this year as well. However, their request to lower the existing application fee - Rs 4,000 for general and Rs 3,500 for reserved category – is yet to be addressed.
Notably, the CLAT UG and PG counselling fee costs Rs 30,000 for general and Rs 20,000 for SC, ST, OBC, and PwD categories.

CLAT exam centre changed for Lucknow candidates
The Consortium has changed the CLAT 2026 exam centre for Lucknow candidates due to administrative reasons. Those who were allotted Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay Government Girls PG college, Section 11, Rajajipuramm, near the new taxi stand, Lucknow have been shifted to Lucknow Public College, A-Block, Rajajipuram, Lucknow, 226017.

CLAT exam timings 2026
Both CLAT UG and PG entrance exams will be conducted for a duration of two hours from 2 pm to 4 pm. PwD candidates will be given an additional 40 minutes to attempt the two-hour exam, as per the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) Comprehensive Guidelines.

CLAT Exam Date 2026: Consortium to hold entrance exam tomorrow
The Common Law Admission Test ( CLAT 2026 ) will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm today at 141 exam centres across the country. The scores obtained by candidates in CLAT UG and CLAT PG exams will be used for admission to five-year integrated LLB and LLM courses in 25 National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating law colleges in India.
