Two 20-year-old students from Hyderabad were swept away by a stream near Bherukho waterfall in Sehore district, police said. The incident took place during a picnic at Kheoni Sanctuary. Five students from VIT-Kothri had visited the spot when the mishap occurred.
University officials admitted the warden did not inform police, hospital or university authorities. Security guards brought down the body using a bedsheet. The warden later called the parents, saying their daughter was in critical condition, without mentioning it was a suicide.
