Coronavirus: Maharashtra postpones last Class 10 board exam

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra Government has postponed the last Class 10 state board examination scheduled on Monday amidst the COVID-19 scare, school education minister Varsha Gaikwad has announced.

This was confirmed by the Maharashtra government’s press office to Careers360.

The department had scheduled the geography exam - also the last one for Class 10 students -- for Monday, March 23. The new date will be announced after March 31.

Over the past few days, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and the state boards of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala all postponed their board exams.

The total number of active COVID-19 cases in India is currently 231. Maharashtra is the state with the highest number of cases with 49
