The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the provisional seat allotment and is set to announce the NEET UG 2026 round 2 result tomorrow. Candidates who participated in the second round of counselling will be able to check their allotment status through official website, mcc.nic.in. The round 2 choice-filling and locking process concluded on September 9, and seat allotment processing is underway.
MCC is conducting counselling for undergraduate medical and dental admissions. The committee has published newly added seats, clear vacancy and virtual vacancy lists for round 2. A total of 659 seats have been added for second round across MBBS, BDS and BSc nursing. The seats cover government institutions, deemed universities and BSc Nursing colleges across several states and quotas. In Arunachal Pradesh, newly added MBBS seats are listed at Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences, Naharlagun. The list includes seats under BC, EW, OP, SC and ST categories, including PwD-linked categories.
Assam has newly added MBBS seats at Bongaigaon Medical College. The listed seats include BC, EW, OP, SC and ST categories under the All India quota. Over 4000 BDS seats are vacant in Tamil Nadu.
Round 2 registration and payment were conducted from September 3 to 8, while choice filling and locking were scheduled from September 3 to 9. Candidates who will be allotted seats in this round will have to report to colleges between September 12 and 18. Verification of joined candidates by MCC is scheduled for September 19.
MCC has also published an NRI list for UG Round 2 counselling 2026. The document contains 135 candidates whose status has been provisionally converted from Indian to NRI for the purpose of UG counselling 2026-27 after scrutiny of documents submitted to MCC of DGHS.
The list contains candidate names and roll numbers and runs up to serial number 135. MCC has specifically stated that candidates must produce their original documents at the time of reporting if they are allotted an NRI seat. Failure to produce the required original documents can lead to cancellation of admission. Check other important dates, the counselling schedule, and other details below.

A candidate with rank 133, who was reported at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr RML Hospital, New Delhi, was upgraded to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in the second round. The candidate was allotted MBBS under Open General category through the Open Seat Quota, with option number 4 marked as “upgraded” in the allotment data.

Medical Counselling Committee will release the second round final seat allotment result tomorrow, September 11. The Committee has not announced the exact time for release yet. Once out, those who will be allotted seats can proceed with admission process which includes document verification as well.

Candidates whose category or quota has been changed in the same institution and subject are required to get an online generated relieving letter and get admitted to the changed category or changed quota seat from the allotted institution. Such candidates must get fresh online-generated admission letter for the changed category or quota seat; otherwise, the allotted seat will be cancellaed due to non-admission.
