COVID-19: Calcutta University waives tuition, admission, exam fees for UG, PG students

The University of Calcutta announced that it has waived all fees for UG, PG students in different semesters for 2021-22 session.
NEW DELHI: The University of Calcutta announced that it has waived off all fees including tuition fees, admission fees, and examination fees for all undergraduate and postgraduate students in different semesters for the 2021-22 session. The students are also not required to pay fees to collect mark sheets of different semester examinations.
“This is for the information of all concerned that in view of the present pandemic situation, the University has waived off all fees like Admission fees, Tuition fees and Examination fees of the students (PG and University UG students) for the academic year 2021-2022 for different semesters,” the Calcutta university said in an official statement.
West Bengal higher education minister Bratya Basu also shared the news on social media.
“These are trying times for all. Keeping in mind the various challenges that we're facing owing to #COVID19, #CalcuttaUniversity has decided to waive off tuition fees for different semesters. Under MamataOfficial's compassionate leadership, we will together win this battle!,” Bratya Basu said in a social media post.

Recently, the Delhi government led by AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal said that it will bear the cost of education for all the students who lost their parents to COVID-19. The Delhi government has directed schools to ensure that such students are adjusted in the same school and offered free education.
