CSIR NET dates have been revised from July 26-27-28 to only July 28 for all subjects; revision to dodge clash with Haryana TET
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the exam dates for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET) for the June 2025 session.
The testing agency will now be conducting the competitive exam to determine the eligibility of candidates for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes across scientific domains on July 28, 2025.
Earlier, the CSIR-UGC NET 2025 exam was scheduled to be conducted on July 26, 27 and 28, 2025 in multiple shifts.
The decision by the NTA comes after several candidates raised issue over the clash of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2024 with the CSIR-UGC NET 2025 on July 26 and 27.
“In the interest of aspirants, the exam of Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2025 will be held in a single day, only on July 28, as per an official notice,” the testing agency said in an official statement.

CSIR NET: JRF and lectureship
The CSIR-UGC NET 2025 will also be used for awarding Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), and making candidates eligible for assistant professorship (lectureship) in the country. Candidates need to meet the respective cutoffs in the exam for eligibility to JRF and assistant professorship.
