NTA held the joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 exam for five subjects over two days in CBT mode across the country for JRF award, assistant professor appointment and PhD admission

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR UGC NET 2026) June entrance exams for around 1.5 lakh students, with attendance of nearly 80%.
A total of 1,87,739 students registered across five science subjects, of whom 1,50,057 appeared, marking an overall attendance of 79.9% for the joint CSIR UGC NET June 2026 session.
NTA held the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 entrance exam for over two days on June 17 and 18 in two shifts, in computer-based test (CBT) mode across the country. The CSIR UGC NET 2026 answer key along with the response sheet will be issued soon.
Once provisional answer keys are published, candidates will be able to access the PDF available on the official website, csirnet.nta.nic.in or nta.ac.in. Students will also be able to object to the CSIR UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer key before the deadline.

As per NTA, the highest number of registrations were received for the life sciences subject.
The number of subjects, students registered and appeared for each subject in the CSIR UGC NET June session 2026 exam is shown in the table below.

The testing agency will publish the CSIR UGC NET 2026 result based on final answer keys.
NTA conducts CSIR UGC NET June exams twice a year to determine eligibility for the award of junior research fellowship (JRF), appointment as assistant professor, and PhD admission in institutions across India.
