Try NowNEW DELHI: The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) application form 2022 has been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) at the CUET official website at cuet.samarth.ac.in. Candidates are required to apply before May 6 for the CUET exam by paying the application fees prescribed by the NTA. Candidates are also required to pay processing charges and goods and services tax (GST) apart from the CUET application fee.

Teachers of the University of Delhi have pointed out that the introduction of CUET has increased the fee amount. Earlier, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) were required to pay only Rs 100, and others had to pay only Rs 250.

According to a public notice released by NTA, candidates in India, who belong to the general category are supposed to pay Rs 650 as a CUET application fee. Candidates who belong to the General - Economic Weaker Section (EWS) and Other Backward Classes Non-Creamy Layer (OBC NCL) categories have to pay application fees amounting to Rs 600.
Aspirants who belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD) and transgender people have to pay Rs 550 as a CUET application fee. For students outside India, the application fee is Rs 3000.

The processing charges and GST payment in addition to the application fee for CUET, a government exam for entrance into the central universities are causing an extra burden to students, especially for those who belong to the SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS categories.
The last date to pay the CUET exam application fee is May 6. Candidates are required to successfully transfer the fee amount before 11:50 pm on that day.
