NEW DELHI: Empty CUET exam boxes are kept outside the hall and they don’t possess any sensitive material, clarified the National Testing Agency in response to a video shared on social media. NTA stressed that they have deployed security personnels at the spot where the boxes are kept and also shared a video in which some people can be seen opening the boxes which are ultimately shown to be empty. CUET UG 2024 was conducted from May 15 to 24 in hybrid mode and CUET results 2024 are yet to be declared.

“These are empty boxes kept outside the hall at NTA and do not have any sensitive material inside them. Never did we keep these boxes in open, as being reported by the media. Also, we have sufficient number of security personnel deployed at the place where boxes are kept,” it said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
A correspondent of ABP News Ajatika Singh posted a video on X about her ‘ground report’ on CUET in which several trunks are being seen having details of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2024 written outside them. The journalist claimed that the trunks containing CUET UG 2024 answer sheets are kept outside the NTA hall and sought a clarification from the exam agency mentioning that CUET UG results 2024 are not out yet.
“CUET exam trunks under the open sky. The seals of many boxes are broken, while some boxes are also seen sealed. The latest exam date of CUET (UG) is written as 15-5-2024 and the results have not come yet. Will NTA give clarification in this matter?,” she asked in a post.

Scam in exams
Taking a dig at the union government over the video, the opposition alleged a ‘scam’ in CUET as well and demanded answers from the centre.
National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) president Varun Choudhary asked union education minister if CUET 2024 students have also been cheated. He wrote, “When ABP News journalist Ajatikaa investigated the NTA office, he saw an amazing scam. CUET-UG answer sheets are lying in the open, the packages are not sealed. Many months have passed, the result has not come yet. Education Minister please answer, has CUET-UG students also been cheated?”
This comes after the controversies and protests over the recent incidents of paper leaks and irregularities in the entrance and competitive exams such as the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).
