NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the CUET PG results 2023 on July 20 on its official website, cuet.nta.nic.in. With the declaration of CUET PG results, now CUET PG participating colleges including Jamia Millia Islamia, Calicut University, Sikkim University, Allahabad University, Central University of Tamil Nadu, HPU and others will start accepting applications for PG admission for the 2023-24 academic session.

NTA does not have any role in the preparation of the CUET PG merit list and the CUET PG qualifying marks. The participating colleges and universities will prepare their own merit list and cut-off.

The CUET PG information brochure reads: "Admissions are handled at the level of the Central and Participating Universities for their respective programs. After the declaration of the CUET (PG) - 2023 result by NTA, the respective Universities will declare the counselling/ admission schedule and merit list based on the CUET (PG) - 2023 score and the other criteria of the respective University."

In CUET PG 2023, each participating university decides the minimum qualifying marks for their respective courses. The universities take into consideration various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, the number of seats available and the overall performance of the candidates to determine the cutoff marks. The minimum qualifying marks may vary from one university to another and from one course to another.

The cut-off marks will be used to shortlist candidates for further rounds of the admission process, such as counselling and seat allocation. Candidates who meet or exceed the minimum qualifying marks set by the universities will be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of admission.

A total of 197 universities will accept the CUET PG score for admission. Out of the total universities, 39 are central universities, 45 state government universities, 10 government institutions and 103 private and deemed Universities. These institutions offer a wide range of postgraduate courses, providing candidates with numerous opportunities for higher education and specialization.

The selection and admission of students to the universities and colleges will be on the basis of fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in the merit list, medical fitness, verification of original documents and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the university, the candidate is applying for.

This year more than half of the registered students did not appear for the test. Among the various programmes, the general (MBA) programme had the highest number of registrations. However, the highest number of candidates who actually appeared for the exam was for the general programme.
