CUET UG answer key 2024 expected next week, says report; may delay UG admissions

NEW DELHI: Amid the ongoing NEET UG, UGC NET 2024 controversy, the National Testing Agency (NTA) may delay publishing the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG 2024) answer key. This also means that the UG admissions at participating colleges will be delayed. This year, 13.48 lakh candidates appeared in the exam held in 379 cities, including 26 cities outside India.

The CUET UG answer key 2024 is likely to be out next week and the results will be declared a week or 10 days later, the Indian Express quoted a senior official as saying. However, as per the NTA CUET information bulletin, the CUET UG result date 2024 is June 30.

The NTA conducted CUET re-exam on May 29 for about 1.52 lakh candidates in Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad centres. The second-largest national-level entrance exam, CUET UG 2024, was completed in all cities in the country and abroad reducing the exam duration from 34 days last year to 8 days this year.

The recent NEET and UGC NET paper leak has put the NTA on spotlight and the ministry of education announced to form a high-level committee to study the functioning of the testing agency. The cancellation of UGC NET 2024, which was going to be used for PhD admission from this year, has also raised concerns among universities and students as it will disrupt the academic calendar.

The CUET answer key will be issued on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ . Students will be allowed to challenge the answers within a stipulated period of time by paying a non-refundable fee of Rs 200 per question. The CUET results 2024 will then be prepared based on the final answer key.
