"However, in order to help the students to consolidate their learning, the syllabus of the academic session 2021-22 covered so far, is to be revised during this break through assignments," it said. The DoE said that the assessment record of winter break assignments and activities must be maintained scrupulously and shall count towards internal assessment.

"Class teachers may be further directed to make a note of the strengths and weaknesses of the students of their respective classes, so that individual attention may be given to each student after the winter vacation," it said.

Meanwhile, Delhi schools did not resume offline classes for Classes 1 to 5 on December 27, as the air quality in the national capital remained ‘severe’. The air quality of the national capital was recorded in the 'severe' category for the sixth consecutive day, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) on December 17 said that “states can decide on resuming offline teaching for junior classes – for students of Class 5 and below – from December 27 and that such decisions must factor in the prevailing air quality and pollution levels on the AQI and the winter vacation schedule”.
