DU teachers threaten election duty boycott after alleged assault by DUSU campaigner.
Faculty of DU's Motilal Nehru College (Evening) staged a protest on Wednesday after a student campaigning for the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections allegedly assaulted a teacher. The teachers gathered at the college after the alleged incident and demanded action against the student.
"A DUSU campaigner beat a faculty member. He is grievously injured and is receiving medical attention," a teacher said. "Teachers are protesting against the DUSU election. We will also be filing an FIR and boycott any election duties. Students need to understand the boundary. Faculty members cannot be beaten up," the teacher said.
