Delhi University postpones PG, semester exams for May 20 to 25 due to ‘unavoidable reasons’

The Delhi University (DU) has postponed all its postgraduate (PG) and professional semester examinations, scheduled between May 20 and 25, citing “unavoidable circumstances.” The competent authority has announced the postponement today, directing all departments to draft and submit revised datesheets for approval.

The University of Delhi (UoD)did not disclose the specific reason for the postponement of PG and semester exams 2026. It emphasised that only the exams falling within the mentioned time frame were being moved.

It also clarified that all other exam dates other than between May 20 and 25 are expected to proceed as originally planned.

Delhi University semester exams 2026 revised dates soon

“Accordingly, all the Departments are requested to send the revised date-sheets afresh for approval of the Competent Authority. The revised schedule should be prepared with due care to ensure smooth conduct of examinations,” the university said in an official statement.

The central university has also assigned various departments to prepare the new schedules “with due care” to prevent further delay. Once the new schedule is out, students will be able to check their PG and semester exam dates through the DU’s official portal, notice board.

Meanwhile, the Delhi University has announced plans to launch courses on foreign languages in online mode for students of the School of Open Learning (SOL).

The online courses will be offered through the department of Germanic and Romance Studies and the Department of East Asia Studies.

According to the agenda of the council, the languages under Germanic and Romance studies include French, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Italian. Department of East Asia Studies will offer Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Department of Slavonic and Finno Ugrian Studies will offer Russian.
