Dharmendra Pradhan visits NFSU Gandhinagar as part of National Education Ministers' Conference

National Forensic Sciences University is creating trained professionals and catering to the demand for cyber defence, intelligence experts, says Pradhan.

NEW DELHI: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and education ministers from states and Union Territories had an overview of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar as part of the two-day National Education Ministers' Conference.

"Along with Education Ministers and delegation of states/UTs had an overview of the National Forensic Sciences University in Gandhinagar. It is a first, one-of-a-kind and only super-specialised forensic university in the world," tweeted Pradhan. He further called for the convergence between NFSU and the Skill India programme of the ministry of skill development and entrepreneurship for skilling and up-skilling in digital forensics and other inter-disciplinary areas.

The union education minister described NFSU as the pride of Gujarat and India and said that it is an institution of national importance. According to him, NFSU is creating trained professionals and is also catering to the increasing demand for cyber defence and intelligence experts.

The conference will be held at the Mahatma Mandir, a convention centre in Gandhinagar, on Thursday. As per an official release, Pradhan is visiting will different institutions along with education ministers of different states and UTs. Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia is also accompanying the ministers.

Pradhan visited Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), a command-and-control centre for monitoring activities of schools in Gandhinagar such as enrolment, attendance, drop-out ratio, activities and performance of teachers and their supervising staff. The delegation also visited the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics or BISAG which is utilised by the state government to provide online education.
