The admission process will be entirely online and candidates will not be required to go to the colleges.
"This year, the university has streamlined the process and tied up the loose ends. Last year, since it was the first time, we all were in the learning process. The process of verifying documents was not possible since they were being submitted online and it was quite overwhelming," said Kalpana Bhakuni, principal of Kamala Nehru College, reported PTI.
Delhi University has written to all exam boards to make students’ mark sheets available on 'Digilocker' (an online platform) to ensure that colleges have access to marksheets. “Until last year, only marksheets of CBSE [Central board of secondary education] and ISC[Indian school certificate] were available through 'Digilocker' but this year, the marksheets of all the exam boards are available through the system,” added Bhakuna.
Principal of Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College, Gyantosh Kumar Jha, said they have formed a standard operating procedure (SOP) for admission. The application process will pass through the department level, the central admission committee and then it will be vetted by the admission convener. After this it will come to the principal's portal, who then approves it,” explained Jha.
"Every department has an admission committee comprising a teacher and a non-teaching staff. We will also keep our computer labs open so that students who do not have access to them at home can come to the college and complete the process online," Jha said.
C Sheela Reddy, principal of Sri Venkateswara College, said they have a well-organised admission committee, along with separate committees for addressing admission grievances, verification of documents pertaining to various special categories. "We have six members and a convener in the admission committee along with admission grievance committee Then we have an online help desk which has six members, including one convener," said Reddy. There there are separate committees for verification of EWS [economically weaker section] certificates that have four members, SC/ST [scheduled caste/scheduled tribe] certificates comprising six members, OBC[other backward classes) comprising seven members and two faculty members for verification of persons with disabilities (PwD), added Reddy.
The candidates who qualify for the first cut-off list can apply between October 4, 10:00 am to October 6, 11:59pm. The college will approve the admission against the first DU cut-off list by 5 pm on October 7. Candidates have to make the payment by 5 pm on October 8.
