NEW DELHI: Delhi University has pulled back its decision to do away with the admissions through Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quota for 12 categories. It will now hold admissions through ECA quota for all the 14 categories of extracurricular activities. The University of Delhi has also extended the last date of filling and submitting DU applications form 2020 to August 31. For admissions through Delhi University Entrance Test, the application window remains unchanged, July 31.
Last month. the university decided to remove the admissions through ECA trials for the 2020 session citing the pandemic situation. However, the admissions through the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) category were not excluded from the list of affected categories.
"The University of Delhi has decided to include all the fourteen categories of last year of extra-curricular activities under the admission through ECA category in the UG courses," reads an official notification of Delhi University.
The 14 DU ECA admissions categories are dance, debate, digital media, music vocal, music instrumental western, music instrumental Indian, NCC, NSS, yoga, divinity, theatre, quiz, fine arts and creative writing.
The DU application correction window will be open from the third week of August to the second week of September.No application correction fee will be charged by the DU applicants.
Delhi University registrations for ECA admissions will start from August 1 and will continue till August 31. The ECA admissions will be made either by preparing a merit list or on the basis of certificates. Applicants who have registered once and now want to enrol themselves for DU admissions 2020 through ECA quota can also fill the application form within the ECA registration schedule.
It must be noted that an applicant can only apply for a maximum of three ECA category. The candidates are required to upload a maximum of five best certificates for erstwhile three years. The uploaded certificates will undergo a forensic examination for all the admitted candidates through ECA category.
