Download NowThe University of Delhi (UoD) has extended the DU PhD admission 2026 deadline for four-year undergraduates under NEP and UGCF. Candidates can apply for DU PhD admission 2026 on the official website at pgportal.uod.ac.in by September 16.

Delhi University has also introduced a one-time direct admission route for PhD programmes for students who have completed four-year UG programmes in the academic year 2026.
The direct PhD admission route will allow candidates to pursue a PhD without having a master’s degree. Candidates must have at least a 7.5 cumulative grade point average (CGPA). However, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST)candidates require only 7 CGPA for direct PhD admission.
DU PhD admission 2026
Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes - Non Creamy Layer (OBC NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories have to pay Rs 250, while others have to pay Rs 100 as PhD admission registration fees.
Moreover, in July 2026, DU announced revised credits for the 4-year students under the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) 2022 from the academic year 2026-27.
Earlier, the university said it had admitted 75,948 students in the academic year 2022 under the first batch of FYUP introduced through the UGCF based on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Of whom, 40,005 students exited at the end of the third year in 2025, while 35,943 students continued to the 4th year.
