NEW DELHI: The All India Students’ Association (AISA) has released its manifesto for the upcoming Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) Elections 2023. The AISA manifesto promises student welfare and affordable, accessible, inclusive, and quality education for DU students.
The DUSU elections 2023 will be conducted on September 22 after a four-year gap. The All India Students’ Association has called upon all students to “ uphold student democracy and reject hooliganism and intimidation on campus.”

Key highlights of the AISA manifesto for the upcoming DUSU elections 2023.
Dilution of courses, as per which the content of the core honors papers be returned and VAC and SEC courses will be scrapped.
A new internal scheme will be rolled back and English language be added to the AEC options.

Recontinuation of the ‘Angel Laptop’ scheme for visually impaired students.
Anti-discrimination cells at the college level
Hostels in every college
Rent Control Act in Delhi
Queer affirmative counselling, support groups, queer collectives, and mental health experts at all colleges.
More buses for students and ensure the connectivity of every college with DTC buses.
Clean toilets, classrooms, and active computer rooms, centres with an affordable facility for printouts.
Committee against racial discrimination in every college
Holding regular sensitization programmes in DU against sexual harassment and against discrimination routinely faced by students from the Northeast.
Institutionalising the practice of general body meetings, in the line of DUTA
Reforming the DUSU election system by creating forums of debate

The AISA has demanded changes in the four-year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) model. ASIA's manifesto raises concerns over the withering safety, autonomy, and democracy of women and gender minorities, the need for affordable hostels and quality housing, and increasing fares of metro and issues faced by local students.
The AISA announced the names of candidates for the upcoming DUSU elections 2023. Aiyesha Ahmad Khan will contest for the post of president while Anushka Chaudhary is the candidate for the post of vice president. Aditya Pratap Singh and Anjali Kumari will be vying for the post of secretary and joint secretary.
