JEE Main 2025 LIVE: NTA to issue JEE Mains notification soon at jeemain.nta.nic.in; latest updates

To be eligible for JEE Main 2025, candidates must have passed Class 12 in 2023, 2024, or 2025. Although there is no minimum percentage required to appear for the exam, candidates must secure at least 75% marks in Class 12 to qualify for admission to IITs, NITs, or IIITs.

In the April session of JEE Main 2024, a total of 1,179,569 students registered, out of which 1,067,959 candidates appeared for the exam.

To register for JEE Main 2025, candidates must upload the following documents in the specified format:

• The recent photograph should be in either colour or black and white, with 80% of the face (without a mask) visible, including the ears, against a white background.
• Both the scanned photograph and signature must be in JPG or JPEG format and clearly legible.
• The size of the scanned photograph should range from 10 KB to 200 KB.
• The size of the scanned signature should range from 4 KB to 30 KB.
• The scanned copy of the Persons with Disabilities (PwD) certificate should be in PDF format, between 50 KB and 300 KB, and clearly legible.

JEE Main acts as the entrance examination for National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other participating technical education institutions. The exam will be held in two phases.

The marking scheme for JEE Main Paper 1 is as follows: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) award +4 marks for each correct answer, while -1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. For Numerical Questions, candidates receive +4 marks for each correct response. The examination has a duration of 3 hours, extending to 4 hours for candidates with disabilities.

Based on trends from previous years, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 will be conducted in two sessions: Session 1 and Session 2. Session 1 is expected to take place in January, while Session 2 is likely to be held in April.

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main has been held for a duration of three hours for several years. JEE Main Paper 1 (for Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of Technology), Paper 2A (for Bachelor of Architecture), and Paper 2B (for Bachelor of Planning) each have a three-hour time limit. However, candidates who choose to take both Paper 2A and 2B will be allocated three hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.

There is no age limit for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. Candidates of any age are eligible to apply and sit for the engineering entrance exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the removal of optional questions in Section B of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, a feature that was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Candidates taking the JEE Main 2025 exam will no longer have the option to select 5 out of 10 questions in Section B.

According to the JEE Main marking scheme for previous years, candidates will receive four marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response due to negative marking. Unattempted or unanswered questions will receive zero marks.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the NTA exam calendar 2025 at nta.ac.in, which will include the exam dates for JEE Main 2025, Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2025, Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2025, and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025.

The NTA has announced a significant change to the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern. Under the new format, optional questions have been removed from Section B of all sections, making all questions mandatory for candidates. As a result, candidates will no longer have the option to select from a limited number of questions. The JEE Main question paper consists of two sections.

As per the IIT JEE exam pattern, each subject will have two sections. The section A will include Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs) and section B will contain questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value.

The JEE Main 2025 syllabus is expected to remain unchanged. It will cover key topics in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the NCERT Class 11 and Class 12 curriculum.

As per the latest update, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced an additional platform for candidates to download important documents such as the confirmation page, admit card, and scorecards through UMANG and DigiLocker. Further instructions will be provided in the upcoming phases. Candidates are advised to regularly monitor the NTA website and their email for the latest updates.

As per the latest updates, the JEE (Advanced) 2024 team has set up "Citizen Service Centres" across the country to support candidates, particularly those from rural areas, in completing their choice filling and fee payment through the online portal.

During the admission process, all eligible candidates must pay a seat acceptance fee to confirm their commitment to securing a seat. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories are required to pay only 50% of the acceptance fee compared to general candidates.

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has not announced the MET 2025 exam dates yet. The registration process for Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2025 is underway and the last date to register for the entrance exam is March 15, 2025.

The registration process for the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2025 is expected to begin in the first week of November 2024. VIT Vellore will publish the VITEEE 2025 notification on its official website, vit.ac.in.

No, the JEE Main 2025 exam dates have not been announced yet, but they are expected to be out this month. The first session of JEE Main 2025 is likely to be held in the last week of January, and second session in the first week of April.

AEEE 2025 exam dates are yet to be announced by officials. AEEE 2025 will be held in two phases, first in the third week of January and second in May.

Similar to previous year, the AEEE 2025 exam is expected to be held in 3 slots- from 9 am to 11: 30 am, 12: 30 pm to 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

In case of a tie, where two or more candidates obtain same scores in the BITSAT 2025 exam, the authorities will implement the following tie-breaking policy:

• Candidates with more marks in mathematics, biology will receive a higher rank.
• If a tie persists, candidates with more marks in physics will receive a higher rank.
• If a tie still persists, candidates with more marks in chemistry will receive a higher rank.
• Lastly, the PCB, PCM marks obtained in Class 12 will be utilized to resolve the tie.

Age limit

Students born on or after July 1, 2003, are eligible for the AEEE 2024 exam.

Educational qualifications:

• Must have passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam.
• Candidates appearing for the exam in 2024 are also eligible but must submit the required documents before the deadline.

Required marks

• Candidates need to secure an aggregate of 60% marks in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics.
• Additionally, they must obtain an individual mark of 55% in each specified subject.

Nationality

• According to Amrita University's eligibility criteria for BTech, both Indian nationals and foreign nationals are eligible to apply for the AEEE exam

The MET 2025 exam will include a total of 60 questions divided into 4 sections.

JEE Mains 2025 will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• Candidates are required to pass Class 12 exam from a recognized board.
• Candidates are required to secure minimum 60% aggregate marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry in Class 12.

The duration of AEEE 2025 exam will be 2 hours 30 minutes. 

VITEEE 2025 registration has not yet commenced. Candidates will be able to access the VITEEE 2025 registration form at vit.ac.in.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will publish JEE Main 2025 syllabus in PDF format. JEE Mains 2025 paper 1 will cover topics from Class 11 and 12 physics, chemistry, and mathematics. For paper 2A (BArch), the syllabus includes mathematics, general aptitude, and drawing. On the other hand, JEE Main paper 2B (BPlan) will include mathematics, general aptitude, and topics related to planning.

The total marks for JEE Main 2025 paper 1 is 300 marks. The JEE Main 2025 total marks for paper 2 is 400 marks.

As per the MET 2025 eligibility criteria, candidates are required to have completed Class 12 or an equivalent qualification with physics, mathematics, and English as mandatory subjects. Additionally, candidates are required to have studied chemistry, biotechnology, biology, or any technical vocational subject as an optional subject, achieving a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in physics, mathematics, and one optional subject.

The National Testing Agency has not yet announced the JEE Mains 2025 exam date. However, as per past trends the JEE Mains 2025 exam for session 1 will be held in January end.

As per the new pattern, there will be no optional questions in section B of the JEE Mains 2025 exam.

The AEEE 2025 registration deadline for phase 1 exam is January 7.
