Education Budget 2023: Where to watch Nirmala Sitharaman's Union Budget speech live

NEW DELHI: The Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will enounce the Union Budget for 2023-24 financial year today, February 1. The finance minister will present the budget digitally in Lok Sabha at 11 am. The proceeding for the enunciation of the Union Budget 2023 will be forecasted live on the official portal- budgetlive.nic.in.

However, the netizens will also be able to watch the unveiling of Budget 2023 live on various TV channels and social media platforms including facebook, youtube, etc.

The Press Information Bureau, PIB will also forecast the Union Budget 2023 live on its Facebook and Youtube platform. After crossing the 1 lakh crore-mark for the first time, all eyes will be on the education budget allocation. In line with the recommendations in the National Education Policy, 2020, the education budget should constitute 6 percent of the GDP. Despite this, the number has only touched nearly 3 percent as of 2022-23.

During the pandemic, education has been financially neglected. Therefore, it has been expected that the government will prioritize infrastructure upgrades, implementation of NEP 2020, training in technology and technological changes in pedagogy, developing entrepreneurial skills among students, and allocating appropriate funds for accelerating educational programs.
