NEW DELHI: Education minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will interact with CBSE school heads on Thursday to discuss changes to be incorporated in the curriculum to bring it in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), in a notification released on Wednesday, said that the minister will interact with more than 1,000 CBSE Sahodaya school heads to discuss the curriculum for the 2021-22 academic session. The CBSE curriculum 2020-21 also saw some changes but those were forced by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, CBSE had recently announced the introduction of English and Sanskrit at two levels from the 2021-’22 session.
The CBSE, in a notification, said: “The Honorable Shiksha Mantri Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will participate in an Interaction Programme with the Presidents and Secretaries of CBSE Sahodaya School Complexes to be organized virtually on January 28, 2021 at 2 pm.”
The CBSE said that schools will have to redefine the teaching learning process for proper implementation of NEP 2020.
“Schools will actually need to redefine the teaching and learning process and change the pedagogical structure for a proper implementation of NEP 2020 to witness the trajectory of transformation,” the CBSE statement added.
The CBSE has also announced that it will conduct orientation programmes through 250 Sahodaya school complexes to increase awareness about NEP 2020
