Education minister Gajendra Yadav inspects schools in Durg; announces dome, toilets, free bicycles

During the surprise inspection, the minister reviews teacher attendance and school operations. He stresses practical learning and urges focus on girls’ development and students’ aspirations.
School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav conducted a surprise inspection of multiple schools in Durg district today. The inspections aimed to review school operations, teacher attendance, practical work in science subjects, and student development initiatives.
At Government Primary School, Ganiyari, school operations were found to be in order. However, at Government Pre-Secondary/High School, Ganiyari, he noted the presence of teachers in the staff room during a subject period.
As per the official press release, the minister expressed displeasure over the situation and instructed that no NGO or external person should be allowed entry into the school without the permission of the District Education Officer. Directions were also issued to serve notice to the headmistress, Rajni Purohit, for lapses.
At Swami Atmanand Excellence English Medium School, Nagpura, after reviewing school operations and interacting with students, the minister directed the construction of a dome and separate toilets for boys and girls. He also assured that recruitment for vacant posts would be carried out through tests.

Incomplete practical work noted
At Government Higher Secondary School, Hirri Dhamdha, incomplete practical work in physics and chemistry was found. The minister directed that notices be issued to Headmaster Maniram Mandare and Physics instructor Kalpana Shukla for corrective measures. At Pre-Secondary School, Hirri, the teaching arrangements led by Headmistress Hariharno were noted.
At Government Higher Secondary School, Litia, free Saraswati bicycles were distributed to eligible girls. A dome construction was also announced for the school. During an interaction, students shared aspirations to become doctors, engineers, IAS officers, and teachers.
“During the inspection, Minister Gajendra Yadav paid special attention to the quality of education, school operations, practical work, and the development of girls. He issued directions to ensure improvements, necessary construction work, and a bright future for all students,” the press release said.
