Faculty Research Awards 2026: AIIMS New Delhi, JSS researchers honoured for medicine

Nikhil Tandon of AIIMS New Delhi and Mahesh Padkuduru A. of JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research have been recognised in the medicine domain.
The Careers360 Faculty Research Awards 2026 for medicine have recognised researchers from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. Nikhil Tandon from AIIMS New Delhi has been recognised under the public category, while Mahesh Padkuduru A. from JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research has been recognised under the private category.

Prof. Nikhil Tandon is Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at AIIMS, New Delhi. A clinician-researcher, his work focuses on cardiometabolic disease, epidemiology, diabetes, hypertension, and the interface of basic, clinical, and public health sciences.
He was a founding investigator of the CARRS Cohort and has led epidemiological and clinical intervention studies on the prevention and management of diabetes and hypertension. His research also includes childhood obesity genetics and diabetes prevention among women with a history of gestational diabetes.
Tandon has served on several WHO expert groups and contributes to national advisory committees, including those of the ICMR and the Government of India.

On the other hand, Prof. Mahesh Padkuduru A. is Professor and Head of Pulmonary Medicine at JSS Medical College, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysuru. He has extensive academic and clinical experience in pulmonary medicine. Over 80% of the work that got him on this list was conducted at JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research.
Prof. Mahesh Padkuduru's research interests include asthma, allergic respiratory diseases, epidemiology, and public health. He has contributed to national and international research studies and has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals, including The Lancet, The Lancet Respiratory Medicine, and the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
