Former President Ram Nath Kovind released a joint publication of Shoolini University and Association of Indian Universities at the national conference in Meghalaya
NEW DELHI: Former Indian President Ram Nath Kovind released a joint publication of Shoolini University and Association of Indian Universities (AIU) today on March 23. The joint publication is titled ‘Building a sustainable future - How universities can help implement SDG goals’. The publication was released at a national level conference of Vice-Chancellors at the University of Science and Technology in Meghalaya (USTM).
Vivek Debroy, chairman of Prime Minister’s economic advisory council, Governor of Assam, Meghalaya Chief Minister and Meghalaya education minister were also present on the occasion.

Atul Khosla, Shoolini University Vice-Chancellor expressed his gratitude towards all the faculty members of the university for the publication. He said, “The document contains recommendations for the central and state governments and regulatory bodies like UGC, NAA, scientific funding agencies and Higher education institutions of India.”
The preparation of the document was coordinated by a steering committee comprising professors PK Khosla, Pankaj Mittal, Atul Khosla and SS Chandel. Chandel said, “The document was prepared in coordination with 17 teams for each SDG, consisting of more than 50 scientists from Shoolini University through a serious discussion, interactive workshops and deliberations. The university is already implementing the SDG recommendations in education and research”.
More than 550 vice chancellors, 50 statutory officials and 10 foreign delegates were present at the academic event.
