FSSAI invites application to its internship programme; know eligibility criteria

NEW DELHI: The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has invited applications to the FSSAI internship 2022 beginning from January. The last date for submitting online applications is December 13, 2021. The FSSAI internship programme will provide learning opportunities in the field of foods and nutrition, through a mutually beneficial inter-industry-academia association.

The internship will be available throughout the year at different points of time with a minimum internship period of 4 weeks. This internship will last for three months. It might get extended to a maximum period of six months. All candidates who complete the internship will be awarded a certificate. Announcement of shortlisted candidates will be made by FSSAI on December 23, 2021. The internship programme will begin from January 3, 2021.

A stipend of Rs 10,000 can be expected during the internship period based on the recommendation of the office or division assigned. Deserving interns are selected based on their attendance, assessment by reporting officers and evaluation of the report by the committee.

FSSAI Internship: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates pursuing a full-time graduate, postgraduate degree or higher from a recognised institute within India or abroad, in any of the following courses are eligible:

  • PG degree/BTech or BE from a recognised university or institute in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Technology, Food Science & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Edible Oil Technology, Microbiology, Dairy Technology, Agricultural, Horticultural Sciences, Industrial Microbiology, Toxicology, Public Health, Life Science, Biotechnology, Fruit & Vegetable Technology, Food Safety & Quality Assurance are eligible.

  • Business Administration & Management, including policy regulation and related fields.

  • PG Diploma or a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication and Public Relations.

  • BE or BTech in Computer Science or Information Technology Software Engineering or related Stream.

  • Postgraduate degree/diploma in Public Policy Public Administration.

  • Bachelor or Master of Law.

Students in the third and fourth-year of Bachelor’s programmes in Food Technology or related fields can also apply.

Note: Interns should have a laptop in possession. FSSAI shall provide working space, internet facility and other necessities, but will not cover local lodging and travel facilities.

FSSAI is a statutory body under the ministry of health & family welfare. It lays down science-based standards for articles of food and regulates their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure the availability of safe and wholesome food to citizens of India. It ensures food safety and compliance with food standards across the country.
