As per the schedule, the GATE 2026 examination will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14 and 15. The GATE results 2026 will be announced on March 19. GATE 2026 will be held as a computer-based test (CBT) in two sessions across more than 200 cities under eight zonal coordinating institutes.
GATE 2026 is conducted for admission to MTech programmes in IITs and other engineering institutions.
Candidates must carry a printed A4 copy of the GATE admit card along with a valid original photo ID to the examination centre. Items such as mobile phones, calculators, electronic devices, watches, books, papers, wallets and stationery are strictly prohibited inside the exam hall. Entry will not be allowed 30 minutes after the scheduled start time.
GATE 2026 will be conducted only at exam centres within India and will not be held at any overseas locations. Foreign nationals and Indian citizens living abroad will need to independently arrange their travel and accommodation to take the examination at the allotted centre in India.
