Check NowThe Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) will close the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027 applications tomorrow, October 5. Candidates seeking admission to MTech and PhD programmes can register for GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) through the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
The engineering institute will open the GATE 2027 correction facility from October 14 to 21 for registered candidates. The GATE 2027 examination will be conducted on February 6,7,13,14,20, and 21 across multiple shifts and the result will be declared on March 19.
As per the official schedule, the GATE 2027 examination city intimation slip will be issued on January 4. The technology institute has not announced the admit card release date. However, it is expected to issue the exam hall ticket in February 2027.
Notably, a new test paper on Robotics and Automation (RA) has been announced in the GATE 2027. There have also been changes to the sectional paper codes for XE, XH, and XL.

GATE 2027: How to register
Candidates can follow the steps given below to register for the GATE 2027.
- Go to the official website at gate2027.iitm.ac.in.
- Do the mandatory Digilocker-based registration process.
- Enter required details such as personal, identification, and academic information.
- Select the GATE test paper.
- Candidates can opt for one paper or two permitted paper combinations in the same application.
- Select the preferred exam cities.
- Upload the photograph, signature, and other applicable documents in the asked format.
- Pay the registration fee.
- Press the submit icon.
GATE 2027 will be held for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes at IITs, IISc, and other participating colleges. The GATE scores are also used by some PSUs for recruitment purposes.
