NEW DELHI: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 score will be used for admission to MTech and other postgraduate programmes in various engineering institutes. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) has announced the GATE 2025 result and issued the GATE scorecard along with the result. GATE 2025 Result (Out) LIVE

Candidates can download the GATE 2025 scorecard from March 28 to May 31, 2025 through the official website at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. The GATE 2025 scorecard carries details such as the candidate's name, registration number, marks obtained, normalized score, All India Rank (AIR), qualifying marks, and validity period. The GATE marks represent the raw scores obtained by an engineering aspirant in the exam, while the GATE score is a normalised score calculated based on the exam's difficulty level across different sessions.

The GATE 2025 exam was conducted on February 1, 2, 15, and 16 in two shifts each day. The GATE marks are total marks obtained out of 100 by calculating the number of correct answers. Negative marking is also applied for incorrect responses, which affects the overall score.

Since the GATE exam is conducted in multiple shifts, the normalization process is applied to ensure fairness. The normalized marks are then used to compute the GATE score. GATE score is a normalised value derived from the raw marks, considering the difficulty level across different sessions. The GATE score is calculated out of 1,000.

During the GATE counselling process, GATE score is used to offer admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other institutes. The GATE ranks are also determined based on the GATE score. Apart from this, GATE scores are also used for recruiting candidates in public sector undertakings (PSUs).
