NEW DELHI: GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (GIMSR), Visakhapatnam admissions open for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) 2023. Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by the National Medical Council (NMC) for admission to the MBBS programme at GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. GIMSR Visakhapatnam has a total of 150 recognised seats of which 127 are management/ paid seats, while the remaining 23 are NRI seats.
GIMSR Visakhapatnam also offers other UG and PG courses like B.Sc Paramedical and MD/ MS courses in different departments like Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Radio-Diagnosis among others.
GIMSR MBBS eligibility criteria 2023

Candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, of the admission year.

Candidates must have completed their intermediate/ HSC/ +2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/ Botany & Zoology with the minimum marks required by the NMC.

Candidates must qualify the undergraduate National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) with the score prescribed by the NMC.

NOTE : Candidates are required to pay the total fee amount of 1st year at the time of GIMSR admission. Starting from 2nd year GIMSR fee may be paid in installments as per the rule of the University upon request.
GIMSR MBBS admission process 2023
For admission to GIMSR MBBS course candidates will have to appear for NEET - UG counselling conducted online by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), DGHS, New Delhi. All participating candidates must carefully go through the information bulletin, counselling procedure, institute information and seat matrix posted on the official website of MCC - mcc.nic.in and register for admission to MBBS course in GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. Steps to appear for NEET - UG counselling are given below.

Appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) and qualify it.

Register online at mcc.nic.in for All India Quota (AIQ) counselling and select Deemed Medical Colleges.

During choice filling in round 1 for MBBS, select GIMSR as your first choice.

Keep checking the mcc.nic.in for merit announcements.

If allotted a seat, download the allotment letter and complete the verification and fee payment as per scheduled dates.

In case of non-allotment of MBBS seat, continue with subsequent counselling rounds (Round 2, Mop-up round, and stray vacancy) (GIMSR as your first preference).
