GITAM deemed-to-be university secured a CGPA of 3.54 out of 4 in 3rd cycle of accreditation for an extended duration of 7 years.

NEW DELHI: GITAM (Deemed-to-be university) has been accredited with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) A++ grade. The institution secured a CGPA of 3.54 out of 4 in the third cycle of accreditation for an extended duration of seven years (the validity of accreditation is usually for a period of five years).
A group of eight NAAC peer team members visited all the four campuses of GITAM for four days in the month of February 2023 to assess the teaching, learning, research, infrastructure, student support system, governance, and leadership and institutional best practices. Besides, a third-party blind evaluation was conducted during the last six months.

“The NAAC A++ accreditation makes GITAM (Deemed to be University) as one of the top 3% of Higher Education Institutions in India and one of the most sought-after HEIs in Southern India," said an official statement from the university.
Thanking and congratulating staff, students, and other stakeholders on this meritorious feat, professor Dayananda Siddavattam, Vice Chancellor, professor Jayasankar E Variyar, pro vice chancellor (academics) and professor Raja Prabu R, director (IQAC), GITAM said, "As a NAAC A++ accredited university, GITAM has raised the bar even higher and has come one step closer to fulfilling its mission of providing a futuristic, world-class, and comprehensive education to all, as well as, contributing to the community.”

“The A++ grade also retained the Category - I status for us, opening access to many opportunities and privileges for GITAM, such as more academic & administrative autonomy, admitting foreign students up to 20%, starting offshore campuses etc.,” they added.
GITAM was awarded A grade in the first Cycle (2011), A+ grade in the second cycle (2017).
